Children's Day - Every year 14th November is celebrated as Kilkari’s Foundation Day. Bal Diwas is very significant due to two reasons – first it is the birthday of Chacha Nehru and secondly it is the Foundation Day of Kilkari. On this day Kilkari organizes special programmes for children. They freely exhibit whatever they have learnt in a year at Kilkari. On this occasion the state government gives prizes to those children who have been selected for ‘Balshree Awards’.
National Balshree Award - National Balshree Award scheme was started in 1995 by National Bal Bhawan, New Delhi with the objective of developing creative competence in the children. Bihar Bal Bhawan Kilkari is organizing ‘Balshree Award’ since 2009. Through this those creative children are selected who on the basis of their imagination are able to create something new in a novel style. Bihar Bal Bhawan Kilkari organizes ‘Balshree’ every year to recognize the creativity of children and develop and brighten it to the national level. This ‘Balshree Awards’ selection programme is organized in three stages (District, State and National level) in which children of 10 to 16 years can take part. In this four main subjects of creativity have 16 sub-categories. One child is selected from each category. From each main subject, one child with special need is selected too.
